The International Student stream for permanent residency has been changed by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Programme (OINP) to broaden eligibility for international students who have completed a one- year college graduate certificate.
Starting on January 1st, 2024, these new OINP modifications to the International Student Stream will be implemented. This change has no bearing on those who submitted an application before this date.
In the past, candidates holding a one-year certificate from an authorized institution could only apply via the OINP's International Student stream in cases where entrance to the programme required the completion of a degree. That's not the situation anymore.
This new modification now applies to OINP eligibility for any one-year college program that grants an Ontario College Graduate Certificate.
